Summary: eXe 0.96 Released
Project: eXe (eLearning XHTML Editor Project)
Release 0.96 of eXe, the eLearning XHTML editor, is now available
as we rapidly approach Version
1.0.
This version contains a number of enhancements and bug fixes.
Perhaps most notable is improved ability to load packages created
with older versions of eXe. The ability to embed images in
text areas managed by TinyMCE has been refined to make shorter
filenames and to properly clean up images that are deleted.
There have also been a couple of fixes in the unicode handling: one
that makes the Wikipedia iDevice more robust when parsing pages and
one that allows IMS Content Packages to be exported when there are
characters other than ASCII in the metadata. You can see the
complete list of changes in the release notes.
Remember that eXe is an Open Source project. We welcome your
help. Note that this does not necessarily require
programming. If you discover a problem or have a suggestion
to improve eXe, please take the time to (1) check if someone has
reported the same thing and then (2) provide us with a detailed
sequence of steps so that we can try to reproduce the problem and
get it fixed. If you are willing to share an ".elp" package
that illustrates the problem, that can often be helpful. The
faster we can duplicate and isolate the problem, the faster eXe can
advance. Please help! If you can help translate eXe
into your language, please visit our Pootle translation server and
improve the translations.
Thanks for being part of the eXe community!
