Documentation Project
Looking at using Moodle 1.6 to deliver training to 5000 teaching assistants. We have no experience with FOSS so this should be fun. An outcome of this project would be documentation, hopefully that is useful to other non profit social service agencies who are looking into FOSS, particularly Moodle. Questions right off the bat we would tackle:
How to sell Moodle to senior managers when the organization already has a preferred commercial software vendor.
Technical training for the staff person. Do you want him/her to be conversant just in the basics of Moodle downloading 101, or do you want them to be able to search out interesting additions like what ELGG is doing etc? All in all this project will be a record of a social service agency in Toronto, with funding to develop an extensive e-learning project and is faced with a number of decisions: foss/commercial. hosting options, pedagogy and course design, content development etc.
