"Measuring the worth of e-learner support systems: Developing a possible benchmarking method for evaluation effectiveness." This research will test a survey-based method for assessing learner perceptions of the effectiveness of e-learning support systems. The study will also survey e-learning professional staff (tutors and support personnel) beliefs about the effectiveness of those systems. The findings of the two surveys will be tested for any correlation between the learners’ judgments and staff assessments. Subject to its findings, the model could be developed into an evaluative method for assessing the quality of learner support systems provided to e-learners. The findings may also be useful in the development of a set of support services to improve participation and retention of currently marginalised learners.
