my project in the remote mountain town of hogsback in the remote rural eastern cape province of south africa aims to see how ICT (information and communications technology) can help 'bridge the digital divide' and provide access to online educational resources to learners from previously disadvantaged communities how this can help inform, educate and empower, especially young African people, to become part of the 21st century information superhighway the project has been running for little over a month now and the latest project news can be seen on the rhodes university wiki http://dwesa.coe.ru.ac.za/wiki/User:Oblonski I am liasing with the community, local school children, teachers as well as those in business, industry and government with more experience and resources at their disposal, to help with getting the project off the ground, whether through seed funding or donated computer equipment
