ps. I was just checking out this new tool: http://gibeo.net/ Some similarities to DTD
in terms of annotation granularity, but no system for organizing
discourse or P2P sharing. Just thought you would find it
interesting, since you are into online collaboration tools.

The first thing I've got to do is read the DTD project
documentation to see where they are and where they are going. 

When I joined the project, I received a welcome message from
Ulises Mejias - a nice touch - makes me feel like I can contribute
something (and hence encourages me to try ).

My interest in the DTD (distributed textual discourse) project
stems from a general interest in blogging, and wondering how it
will work in a p2p environment like IM or iTunes sharing. Mac OS X
Tiger will ship with a "local" blogging product based on
bloxsom.



This is a nice idea, especially when tools like MacJournal plug
into it automatically.



An underlying issue with bloxsom, easily solved, I imagine, is that
of live publication ... how does my blog get found, first by
colleagues, then by google, and finally, by blogger (still a
favorite blogging package.)



The DTD seems like a nice place to think about this

Yesterday, I ran across the Eduforge project and immediately got
attracted to the "distributed textual discourse" project.



Going through the process of creating an account ("free
blogging!"), and then joining the dTd project to get the scoop
immediately began to set the wheels spinning as to how "eduforge"
might have some models that we could use for rolling out a similar
"platform for collaboration" at UVM.
