Yes I agree it's a good description. I wonder if
we need to take some time to redefine our understandings. I am
still quite keen to define a LO as having objectives but I
understand there are some different perspectives........I think
whatever we decide it would be good to have a clean
definition. This is from the user requirements:
For each learning module
learning objectives will be listed clearly; these will have 3 parts
– learning outcome, conditions, and assessment criteria
1. The
learning outcome is a specific performance that can be observed or
heard.
2. The
conditions specify the resources and conditions under which the
performance will be demonstrated.
3. The
assessment criteria -
o
meet the requirements of the target
audience
o
are complete – no criteria missing
o
include relevant ‘key skills’
o
are specific and measurable
o
are relevant to the learning outcome
