The more technically minded out there who develop flash content may have started noticing
annoying security warnings since the flash plug-in changed to version8. Although for
OER we tend to author two versions behind (for backward compatibility and a greater audience footprint) this is becoming an issue with local testing.
Thankfully I recently found this useful post regarding Flash Player 8 security restriction and their impact on e-Learning courseware developers. It includes a good summary of possible solutions for local/CD-ROM deployment as well as useful links to Adobe whitepapers and devnet articles on the subject.
Any advice or comments from the Eduforge community and beyond would be very welcomed as I feel that this one's likely to run and run. Somehow I feel that having to resort to a 3rd party application like Northcode’s SWF Studio isn't a great solution...
