After slowly learning my way around Eduforge, I finally have
this project up and going.

The idea of this project is to share ideas, philosophies,
methodologies, and processes of combating plagiarism in educational
institutions.

If you have any good articles to share, please post the links to
them to generate discussion. Also, please post which software and
practices you are using for discussion and comparison.

By sharing this information, we'll be able to come up with some
best practices that can be a boon to educational institutions
throughout New Zealand and perhaps the world.

If you have any software that you are writing, or would like
written, in regards to this topic, please post it and we'll test
it, review it, comment on it, possibly help code it, and champion
the effort.

With the help of Bob Goddard and Rom Rudzki, I believe the best
category has been located for the placement of this project:
'Learning Design and Pedagogy'.

We're discussing a better way to lay out the forums.

Started forum for TurnItIn. Eduforge users will be able to
discuss how they are using this product, give tips, report bugs,
and share knowledge of work arounds.

I set up the mailing list for
the Anti-Plagiarism project that I am trying to coordinate.

Eduforge seems to be quite
difficult to navigate around. I've had several people review the
site and it is not apparent at the first visit what the site is
actually for. A few of those people could only figure out what the
purpose of the site was for after I described it to them in an
email.

The Anti-Plagiarism Project has been
approved.

Now, I have to put it in one of the project categories:

I would appreciate any feedback on which area would be
suitable.

Title: Anti-Plagiarism

"Anti Plagiarism Best Practices will be an area
where different organisations can discuss which software and
methodologies. Its purpose is to generate discussion and solutions.
If you found a way of beating a particular anti-plagiarism
software, then post it here. If you have the 'unbeatable'
anti-plagiarism software, post it here and we can all try to break
it."

After much trepedation in trying to figure out what the
nonsensicle errors were when setting up this account, I joined
Eduforge.

Why am I here? I'm with the Openpolytechnic of New Zealand and
I am looking forward to sharing thoughts and experiences of other
IT people from different educational institutions throughout New
Zealand.
